LocalBreak

Local Break crews are small groups sharing a break and what they see there. These rules apply to profile photos, names, invitations, Scout reports, attached media, and other content submitted through the Service. They form part of the Terms of Service.

Share useful, honest observations

Report conditions you actually observed. Do not fabricate reports, impersonate someone, manipulate forecast feedback, or post spam. Disagreement about a forecast is welcome; harassment is not.

Respect people and their privacy

Do not threaten, bully, discriminate against, stalk, or expose private information about another person. Do not share someone's contact information, precise whereabouts, private invitations, or private conversations without permission. Keep beach access lawful and respect closures, private property, and local rules.

Keep media appropriate

Do not upload sexual content, nudity, nonconsensual intimate imagery, exploitative content involving children, graphic violence, or content encouraging dangerous or unlawful conduct. These rules also cover fabricated or manipulated media. Never record someone in a place where they reasonably expect privacy. Obtain any permission needed to capture and share images or voices, and use only content you have the right to upload.

Understand what your crew sees

Submitting a Scout check at a shared break with Crew reporting enabled shares its structured conditions, your display name, time, and optional media with that crew. Scout free-text notes and Journal entries stay private. Shared reports expire at the break's local midnight, but a recipient may still capture or copy what they see. Expiration cannot remove a copy another person made outside Local Break.

Report a concern

Use the report control on a crew report. A successfully submitted report immediately hides that post from the crew while it awaits review. You can also block that member's crew reports. Blocking does not by itself remove someone from the crew or erase their knowledge of the shared break; ask the owner to remove a member or leave the crew if needed.

For personal follow-up, email moderation@localbreak.app, or use Report content. The report page also explains how someone without an account can ask us to remove content. Give us the report reference or the break, poster, and approximate time; do not forward intimate images or private invite links.

How we respond

Local Break reviews submitted concerns. We may ask for context, remove or keep content hidden, warn someone, restrict features, suspend an account, or terminate an account for serious or repeated violations. Automated video checks may also flag content. We consider the nature, severity, and repetition of a violation and relevant safety or legal obligations.

If you believe a decision was mistaken, email moderation@localbreak.app with Moderation appeal, the reference, and a short explanation. We will review the available context and explain our decision where lawful and appropriate. An appeal does not guarantee restoration of expired or deleted media, and does not delay an urgent removal obligation.

Immediate safety concerns

Local Break is not an emergency service. For an immediate threat to life or safety, contact 911 or the appropriate local authority. To request removal of an intimate image shared without consent, use the dedicated instructions on Report content.
