Just getting a read on this spot.
The most important thing to know is your data is private. Nothing you log is shared unless you explicitly share it with friends. Local Break will never blow up your spot. Public breaks are the only ones that are searchable, your secret spot stays secret.
Local Break starts with the same forecast data the big surf sites use as a baseline. What makes it different is that your Surf Journal and Scout Reports tune that raw forecast data to the break where you actually surf.
Your Surf Journal is the strongest signal. When you log a Session after your paddled out and answer “How’d the forecast hold up?”, you’re telling the model whether the call was Accurate, Bigger, Smaller, or Messier. That direct forecast feedback is the most valuable input and again, it stays private to you.
Scout Reports are a lighter signal. They compare the forecast against live conditions for size, wind, surface, and timing. Useful, when you’re not surfing, but a logged Session with feedback carries more weight.
Stages the model moves through
A handful of Sessions is enough to move past Fresh. Around 20–30 with forecast feedback and you’re into Locked In territory. Keep logging year-round because sandbars shift, swells swing, winds turn, seasons change. That’s how your forecast stays accurate.
